Why Christians Shouldn't Vote for Democrats

Here's the deal, I hear so much about Christians and republicans primarily because of the abortion issue.

What happens if you remove pro-life and pro-choice from the equation? Should a Christian then vote for a democrat?

Democrats have been mugging US citizens far longer than they've been murdering them. Thank you FDR.
Romans 13:1-4
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer.
We are to submit ourselves to the US constitution, which God has put in authority over us. And to support a candidate who is rebelling against our country's authority (again the US Constitution) is then in turn rebelling against what God has instituted. Obama has said the constitution has "deep flaws" which he's saying then that what God has put in authority is flawed. He is committed to taking away our right to bear arms and he wants to mold the constitution to do what wasn't done during the civil rights movement.

Who is Barry Soetoro?

It is really disconcerting how little we actually know about Barack Obama.

The mantra for Obama is "Change we need" - Many assume that he's referring to change in Washington and specifically George Bush. This would be a far fetched assumption since Barry hasn't really said that. He says he wants to change the United States and the World. Does it bother anyone when a US president says he wants to "Change the World"?

Also Obama went to school in Indonesia during war time. In order to attend school in Indonesia at this time you had to be a citizen. Dual citizenship was not allowed therefore if Obama actually attended school (which he says he did) then he gave up his citizenship and if that's true he is no longer a naturalized citizen.

It's unfortunate that many of his overly emotional supporters care about this.

A sickening event, I was watching CNN the other day and one of the reporters involved in this specific discussion mentioned that it was important to discuss if Obama truly is a socialist and this was scoffed at by the host who said "Our federal gov't is now a partial owner of the largest banks and 700 billion is going towards a larger federal gov't. In addition to that we already tax the rich and give to the poor, just on a smaller scale, so aren't we already socialist." So the argument goes, it doesn't matter that Obama is a socialist since we're already a socialist country. Wow... just wow.

Back to "Change", there are some youtube videos where Obama is talking about the constitution and it's "deep flaws" and "blind spot" found here on youtube. It doesn't matter if Obama thinks it's a "remarkable document" he's not allowed to have an opinion on it, honestly it is what it is you must abide by it. It worries me that he apparently thinks he's above the constitution.

Presidential Candidates on Education

Obama
Prepare Teachers: Obama and Biden will require all schools of education to be accredited. Obama and Biden will also create a voluntary national performance assessment so we can be sure that every new educator is trained and ready to walk into the classroom and start teaching effectively.

McCain
John McCain will fight for the ability of all students to have access to all schools of demonstrated excellence, including their own homes.

Bob Barr - Under his "Education Home Schooling" issues category
Parents have a duty to raise and educate their children, but without choice for alternatives to government schooling, the ability of parents to fulfill that role is severely limited. Education involves not just practical learning, but the transmission of moral values, making it even more important to return authority to parents for deciding their children’s schooling without interference from government.

Who Will Be Taxed By Obama?

I had been thinking about the arbitrary $250,000 imaginary line drawn by Obama that separates the middle class and "wealthy". I was then curious as to who really will be the ones that get taxed.

Doctors/Physicians - 8 years in school and often times student loan debt greater than most mortgages. Then begins residency, this can last between 2 to 6 years earning maybe 32,000 to 48,000 and not to mention the insane hours worked. Well now they'll be taxed nearly 40% of their income. By the way if they're making less than they already are it's likely we may see fewer new physicians and many in the field now close their practice, especially with the increasing costs of insurance. Also, these physicians run the small businesses that you hear talked about. Many times an office with two physicians and a PA will have around 4 - 6 office employees. The Physician still needs to pay for office rent, supplies, insurance, student loans, mortgage, car payment etc. so the best option to save money is to let a few employees go or pay them less. Unemployment goes up. Thank you Obama.

CEO's - Many CEO's, especially the newer ones often have a masters degree and an expensive education. They then most likely took a nice middle class salary between 30,000 - 80,000 out of college and worked their way up for 30 years to finally get where they are. Now we should punish them, take more of their money, demotivate them and watch more companies fail. Wonderful. These are the people that shop at expensive stores and often pay full price for items. These are the people that eat out and tip the waitress and the bartender. Less money for them means less money spent, therefore less waiters, retail employees and so on. Unemployment goes up. Thank you Obama

Dentists, Chiropractors, other medical specialties - Maybe not as many years of education as a physician but sometimes close to it. These people run their own practices the same as physician and if they have less income they'll cut non fixed expenses just the same. Unemployment goes up. Thank you Obama.

Plumbers - Yes, there are many small plumbing companies making around or more than 250,000 and yes they'll cut fixed expenses, use cheaper products and be less readily available. Therefore construction costs will go up, therefore home prices and commercial development prices will go up. More expensive construction and less construction means less construction jobs and also means less plumbers. So maybe Joe the plumber won't be taxed more, but he'll be looking for that welfare check since he could get laid off. Unemployment goes up. Thank you Obama.

Lets be conservative and say that those who make over 250,000 a year are responsible, individually for 2 jobs (an average between small businesses with 10 or more employees and executives who just spend a lot on retail and food). Estimates also put the total population making over 250,000 at 3-4%, we'll use 3% of total population 300,000,000 is 9,000,000 which multiplied by 2 is 18,000,000. Which means that 18million jobs are potentially at stake, not that they'll all lose their jobs or even that they'll all make less but there is some danger. The bureau of labor statistics estimates the total workforce to be 159,000,000 therefore 11% of us should be concerned.

To conclude, Obama is not just taxing 5% of americans, he's also playing with 11% of the total workforce. Say 1 in 8 of those people he affected actually lose their job because of Obama's tax plan. Thank you Obama for 7.5 to 8% unemployment, conservatively speaking.

How did we get in this mess? Part 2

The New York Times has become very useful these days.
I saw a link to this video on Drudgereport this morning and wondered what role did Barney Frank play. Warning, lots of incoherent yelling.

Good work Bill O'Reilly.
Some quotes from this New York Times article in 2003 regarding oversight needed for Fannie Freddie.
The Bush administration today recommended the most significant regulatory overhaul in the housing finance industry since the savings and loan crisis a decade ago.
Here's my favorite part.
''These two entities -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- are not facing any kind of financial crisis,'' said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ''The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing.''
Again that phrase... affordable housing. I've heard affordable housing called, "putting people into homes they can't afford." Seems like the best definition out there.

How did we get in this mess?

I'm not sure if this is funny or sickening.

Fannie Mae Eases Credit To Aid Mortgage Lending 9/30/99

Here are some highlights...
The action... will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans.
Imagine if someone said that today. Also, how do you "encourage" banks to do something? You fine them if they don't. Therefore it was financially expedient to make bad loans.
Fannie Mae has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate
The Clinton Administration, that must be a misprint, I'm sure Bush was at work in to ruin people's dreams long before he was in office.
''Fannie Mae has expanded home ownership for millions of families in the 1990's by reducing down payment requirements,'' said Franklin D. Raines, Fannie Mae's chairman and chief executive officer. ''Yet there remain too many borrowers whose credit is just a notch below what our underwriting has required who have been relegated to paying significantly higher mortgage rates in the so-called subprime market.''
Must not be fun to be Franklin Raines these days. Read the rest of the article for some right on predictions.

Google Throwback

This is just too much fun. For it's 10th anniversary google put up their 2001 index and their previous logo and layout.
http://www.google.com/search2001.html

It's amazing how much has changed since 2001. A search for "George Bush Sucks" in 2001 yielded 15,500 results whereas a search now has 1,090,000. Just a shame.
